Pipe Repair and Servicing That Fixes the Cause, Not Just the Leak

Leaking joints, burst sections, corroded fittings and noisy lines — repaired with the correct parts for your pipe material, then tested under pressure so the repair holds.

Common repairs

What we repair most often

Every repair begins with a short diagnosis so we fix the right thing. These are the faults we deal with week in, week out.

Leaking joints & fittings

Remade or replaced with matching fittings — not wrapped and hoped for the best.

Failing valves & stopcocks

Seized, dripping or passing valves replaced so you can isolate water again.

Corroded GI pipework

Rusted sections replaced and transitions made to modern pipe correctly.

Tank & pump connection leaks

Inlet, outlet, overflow and float connections resealed or renewed.

Burst or cracked sections

Damaged length cut out and replaced, with the cause of the burst investigated.

Water hammer & noisy pipes

Loose supports fixed and arrestors or pressure control added where needed.

Low pressure at fixtures

Partial blockages, scale and undersized runs traced and corrected.

Concealed line repairs

Hidden faults located first, then repaired through the smallest possible opening.

Burst or active leak?

Five things to do before we arrive

Quick action in the first few minutes limits damage dramatically. Keep this list handy.

1

Shut off the water

Close the main valve or the isolation valve nearest the leak. If you have a pump, switch it off.

2

Cut power if water is near electrics

Turn off the circuit for any wet sockets, appliances or a water heater on a leaking line.

3

Open a cold tap

Draining the line reduces pressure and stops water feeding the leak.

4

Contain and record

Move belongings, mop up and take photos — useful for us and for any insurance claim.

5

Tell us what you see; we will advise and schedule the earliest visit available.

Ageing & corroded pipes

When an old pipe keeps failing

Galvanised iron pipe corrodes from the inside. Over the years the bore narrows with rust, pressure drops, water may run discoloured, and pinhole leaks start appearing at threads and bends. Patching one point often just moves the failure to the next weak spot.

When we find this pattern, we show you: the condition of the removed section, the pressure readings and where the next likely failures are. Then we price both options — a targeted repair now, or a staged replacement of the worst runs — so you can decide with the facts in front of you.

Servicing

Regular servicing keeps small faults small

A servicing visit is a planned check of the parts that usually fail without warning. It suits older homes, rental properties, offices and shops.

All accessible valves are operated and checked, exposed joints inspected, tank and pump connections examined, drains flow-checked and the meter observed for silent leaks.

For most homes, once a year is sensible. Older GI systems, busy commercial premises and properties with rooftop tanks benefit from a check every six months.
